Club Relay: 25-26 June 201 'A run of two halves!'
Club relay 2011: Wainwrights Coast to Coast. 25-26 June.
A non-competitive relay of 191miles divided into 26 legs.
We spent all of Saturday chasing rain clouds from the Cumbrian coast to the Yorkshire dales ... apart from a brief interlude in Shap, the clouds won. It was a long contest, starting at 4am on the beach and ending at nearly 10:30pm when Paul and Ivan made it to the remains of a superb stew provided by the campsite in Keld.
Sunday started again at 4am, this time the winners were the midgies. The weather soon improved so we had a day of high temperatures and superb visibility, ending up on the beach at Robin Hood's Bay at 9pm. As you'd expect under such ideal conditions, everyone found the route easy to follow and no-one needed rescuing. HO HO HO!!!
